The BSAC is the Governing Body for Underwater Sport in the UK with branches not just in the UK but world-wide. Its objectives include the promotion of underwater sport, exploration and science, and the promotion of safety in these activities.

The BSAC is the world's largest scuba diving club and has been training people to scuba dive for over 50 years.

The BSAC sets all Octopus Divers training standards from beginner to instructor, ensuring all Octopus Divers club members receive the best training, to support safe and enjoyable diving. The BSAC is a non profit making organisation and puts diving before profit.
