Each Try Dive session lasts about 40 minutes. Unlike some organisations you may have come across on your holidays, you will spend more than 5 minutes under water! Your Try Dive session includes insurance, poolside tuition on basic diving techniques, the equipment and a scuba dive in the pool with a BSAC qualified instructor. We aim to make sure that you get maximum enjoyment from your first scuba dive. After which you receive the official BSAC Try Dive Certificate.

There is a fee of £10 which goes directly to the Club - this helps contribute towards the cost of using the pool and covers the use of SCUBA kit. Your BSAC instructor provides his/her time & experience for free which helps keep costs down.

There are, however, some safety considerations before we can take you for a Try Dive,

You must be aged 12 or over
You must be in good health - there are certain medical conditions which exclude people from diving. Please talk to us if you have any existing medical condition.
You must be able to swim unaided for at least 100 metres.

Basic Conditions

Try Dives are subject to a satisfactory health declaration.

Participants must be aged 12 or over.

Participants under 18 will need a parent’s or guardian’s written permission prior to commencing any under water scuba activity.

Participants must book in advance by ringing 01302 700905. Dates are subject to availability.

Octopus Divers will provide a BSAC qualified instructor, insurance, all the necessary equipment and the BSAC Try Dive Certificate.
